Getting messages from the Angels and Number 7’s

There are message angels in each church that will explain to you what to do. There are also floating number 7’s that will do the same. To get the message from these, simply approach them, they will turn and tilt toward you. Press “U” to get the message, when done, press “ESC” to close the message. They will then fade away.

Chapter 1

The Book of Revelation was written by an old man

sent to a windswept island off the coast of Turkey

called Patmos. He was sent there for standing up for

the gospel. He was a pastor or leader of 7 churches

on the mainland of what is now Turkey.

Trapped it seemed, away from the churches he loved,

old and worried, the Lord gave him the prophecy of the End of Days and

opened up Heaven for him to see that Jesus would one day rule the earth in

justice and love...

1. What do the movies and books make you think the “Book of Revelation”

or the “End of the World” is really like?

2. What does the book of Revelation “reveal”? (Revelation 1:1)

3. What does it promise to those that read it? (verse 3)

4. What do you think he means by the “seven spirits” that are before His

throne? Revelation 4:4, insight verse Isaiah 11:2

5. When Jesus is described as the “firstborn from the dead”, what do you

think that means? (verse 5) insight verses, 1 Corinthians 15:20,

Colossians 1:18

6. What do you think it will mean when he says “he will come in the clouds”?

(verse 7) insight verses, Acts 1:11, Matthew 24:30

7. Write out a description of Jesus according to John:

his clothing

his hair

his eyes

his feet

his voice

in his hands

in his mouth

his face

8. What do the stars mean?

9. In verse 19 he lays out the entire book of Revelation. What are the 3 major

divisions of time it describes?

10. If the seven lamps are the seven churches, what do you think can put out

our “light” today?

Chapter 2

The Church at Ephesus, Revelation 2:1-7

The Church that Lost its First Love

The Church at Ephesus was considered by many to be the “mother” church of

all the others that John addresses the book of Revelation to. It was also one

of the chief places that the apostle Paul ministered a i in the book of Acts.

1. There is a description of Jesus in the first verse of Revelation 2. What is he

holding in his hand? What is he doing?

2. What do you think that means for the church (or any church)?

3. Jesus commends this church for somethings in verse 2, what are they?

4. List some “false apostles” that you might know of today:

5. What is this church’s major flaw? verse 4

6. What do you think that might mean?

7. What should our “first love” be? Luke 10:27

8. What are the “first things” you might have done when you first became a

Christian?

9. What is the promise to those who overcome? verse 7

10. Here’s another “tree” that gives life. 1 Peter 2:24

What do you think the “fruit” of that tree is?

Game of life hints: In this level, there is a statue of Hudson Taylor (chinaman

with “angel” wings). He gives a quote on the wall. The quote is talking about

something called a quiet time. This is a special time that you devote to spending

some time with the Lord in prayer and reading his Word. If you don’t do

that yet (or maybe have gotten out of practice).

If you don’t know where to start, here’s a good method. There are 31 Proverbs

in the book of Proverbs. So you can read one each day. Then “pray them

back to the Lord”. Ask yourself the question, what does it mean for ME?

The Church at Smyrna, Revelation 2:8-11

The Church at Under Persecution.

We may not be suffering like these people, but there’s an old saying that goes

something like this; “If you ain’t suffering now you will be...” In otherwords

there are two types of people in this world, those that have suffered and those

that will.

1. What is the aspect of Christ that is described for us in this Church letter?

verse 8

2. He is described as he that was dead and now is alive. How can that bring

hope to anyone that is suffering?

3. What does he commend this church for? verse 9

4. In verse 10, he tells them that they will only be suffering for “ten days”.

What do you think that means about God and how much he will let his children

go through?

5. There is a promise here to those that overcome. They will not be hurt of

the “second death” (verse 11). What do you think that means?

6. According to Revelation 20:14, 15, those who were not found in the “book

of life” were cast into the lake of fire (which is the second death). How can

we know if our names are written in the “book of life”? 1 John 5:11-13

7. Lastly, what do you think the “crown of life is”?

Game of life hints:

God didn’t promise you an easy life when you became a Christian. But he

DID promise you “peace”, John 16:33.

Sometimes bad things happen, even when you are a Christian. But these are

times when God may choose to use even the bad circumstances of life to

glorify him, 2 Corinthians 12:9. I have two sons and they are both retarded

with the oldest one also being autistic. They BOTH have accepted Jesus as

their savior and have been baptized. I have a great hope that when Jesus

comes again, they will be made whole. In fact in the book of Revelation he

promises this very thing, Revelation 21:4,5. First he says he will wipe away

every tear, then he makes all things NEW.

The Church at Pergamos, Revelation 2:12-17

The Church that Sold Out

Pergamos was the seat of Emperor worship in this area of the Roman Empire.

It was also known as a great place of healing and learning. We get our word

“parchment” from the word “Pergamos”. The Christians in this church had

compromised their witness by worshipping the emperor. I am sure that they

rationalized it by saying “it’s just for show, I don’t REALLY worship the

Emperor...”. We can many times do the same thing.

1. What description of Christ is given in verse 12?

2. How can that help us today? Hebrews 4:12

3. If you knew that “Satan’s Throne” was in your town, what do you think

you would do?

4. According to Jude 1:11, what was the sin of Balaam?

5. How do you think we can commit this same sin today?

6. What does Christ tell this church to do? verse 16

7. What are the consequences if they fail? verse 16

8. He makes a promise of a “white stone” with a new name written on it to

those that overcome. In ancient courts, the defendant would be voted “innocent”

by the members of a jury when they cast a “white stone” for him. How

has God declared you “not guilty”? Romans 8:1

Game of life hints:

Sometimes making a decision for Christ (instead of an earthly benefit) can

cost some REAL money. Don’t be afraid. God will take care of you just like

he did Abraham. What is the promise that he makes to Abraham in Genesis

15:1?

The Church at Thyatira, Revelation 2:18-29

The Church in Idolatry

Thyatira was the least important of all the cities mentioned in the first chapters

of Revelation. Yet it is the longest of the letters to the churches. What do

you think that says about God and how he sees the importance of the “small

jobs” or ministries? Luke 16:10

1. What are the aspects of Christ that are shown in verse 18?

2. When some has “flaming eyes” what does that usually mean?

3. The reference to “feet of brass” means judgment. What do you think that

means for churches or ministries that have gone “astray”?

4. What does the Lord commend this church for? verse 19

5. What is the problem he has with this church? verse 20

6. There are tests to see if someone is a true prophet of God. See if you can

find out the tests in the following verses:

Deuteronomy 13:1-3

Deuteronomy 18:22

7. What do you think your response should be to someone who tells you its

OK to look at Tarot cards or astrology, or go to a seance? Isaiah 8:19-20

8. What does Christ tell this church to do? verse 25

9. How do we “hold fast to what we already have”?

10. What promise does Christ give to the overcomers here?

verse 26

verse 27

verse 28

11. Every Christian will get to heaven and get to meet Jesus and be with him.

But not every Christian will “reign” with him on his throne. What things do

you want to change in your life to help make sure you are an overcomer?

Game of life hints:

If anyone promises you some “new truth” or hidden secrets revealed about

the bible, tell ‘em you got all you need with the “old truth”. The definition of

“occult” is “hidden”. So if anybody tells you they have hidden truth for you,

the alarm bells should go off in your head. This also means that Christians, no

matter how strong in the Spirit they think they are, should NEVER mess with

ghosts, haunted houses, or the occult.

Chapter 3

The Church at Sardis, Revelation 3:1-6

The Dead Church

Sardis was a very rich city placed on a high hill. It was easy to defend (so they

thought) because of the high cliffs all around and the single side you could

attack from. But the city fell twice to an army that bothered to scale the cliff.

This church was one that was once alive but now is dead. It was big and

prosperous but now hardly any life was left in it. The Lord of the churches

was now addressing “The Zombie Church”.

1. What are the aspects of Christ that are talked about in the first verse?

Revelation 3:1

2. If you remember chapter 1, what does the reference to “seven spirits”

mean? Isaiah 11:12

3. What do you think it will take to get some churches to “come back to life”?

4. What are some ways that a church can “strengthen” what remains, or

remember what it received at first?

5. If you found yourself in a “dead church” what do you think you would do?

Go to an “alive” church or try to help out where you are? Why?

6. Christ also tells them that there a “few that haven’t defiled” their garments.

Why do you think he tells them this?

7. What is the promises for the overcomers here?

8. What do you think that you can do to have Christ confess your name

before the angels? Luke 12:8

Game of life hints:

If you are a Christian, you already have the Holy Spirit, Romans 8:9. But not

everyone who is a Christian is “filled with the Spirit”, Ephesians 5:18. So we

have to figure out how to be filled. The key here is submission. If we sell out

to God, he will reveal more of himself to us, John 14:21. Let Jesus take over

ALL of your life, not just some but every last bit. You can do that just by

praying and asking Him to take over any part of your life that is not in his

control.

The Church at Philadelphia, Revelation 3:7-13

The Church of the Open Door

Philadelphia was located in a place that had a lot of earthquakes. The town

was destroyed and rebuilt several times. This has a message to us that want to

get the gospel out to people. Many times when we think the ministry (or our

work for the Lord) is completely destroyed, that is when he can show himself

strongest, 2 Corinthians 12:9.

1. What aspect of Christ is talked about in verse 7?

2. What doors has Christ opened for you to share the gospel in your life?

3. What doors may be shut?

4. When he says HE opens the door, what do you think that can mean for

someone who has “little strength”? verse 8

5. What sort of opposition do you face to witnessing for Christ where you live

or go to school?

6. What does Christ promise you? Revelation 3:9

7. What do you think Jesus is talking about when he talks about being “kept

from the hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world”? verse 10

8. He makes a promise to those that overcome. Where do you think this

temple is? Revelation 21:22

9. When he promises to write his name upon you, how long do you think

that is good for? verse 12.

Game of life hints:

If you have never learned how to share the gospel with your friends here’s an

easy method. I call it “ABC”, or acknowledge, believe and confess. Follow

this road through Romans:

ACKNOWLEDGE you are a sinner, Romans 3:23

BELIEVE Christ died for you, Romans 6:23

CONFESS Him before men, Romans 10:13

A good way to get this under your belt is to memorize these three verses. If

anyone asks you how to become a Christian, just tell him to pray this prayer:

“Dear Jesus, thank you for dieing for me on the cross. I believe that you paid

the price for all my sins and now accept you as my Lord and Savior.”

The Church at Laodicea, Revelation 3:14 - 22

The Lukewarm Church

Laodicea was too far from hot water springs and too far from cold water

rivers. The Romans managed to get water piped there from a distance but by

the time it got to Laodicea it was “neither hot nor cold”. They were also

famous as a healing center for the eyes. It is unique then that the Lord tells

them that they are really “blind” spiritually.

1. What is the aspect of Christ that is brought out in this church? verse 14

2. When he says he is the “Amen” what do you think that means?

3. What is the criticism of this church? verse 16

4. How do you think we can become apathetic to the things of the Lord?

5. In verse 17, what do you think might have been the cause for their apathy?

6. What does Christ say can “heal them”? verse 18

7. What do you think it means to “buy true gold” and “white raiment” and

finally “eye salve” that they might see?

8. What is the most important thing in your life right now?

9. What does Christ promise to those that overcome?

10. When he says he will come and eat with you what does that make you feel

like?

11. The most apathetic of churches gets one of the biggest rewards, the

promise to reign with him. If Christ were to come right today, what job do

you think he would give you to do in his government?

Game of life hints:

The final thrones are empty for right now in Heaven. But they will be occupied

by somebody. I think its saints from the Church. You and I may not

qualify for the “big seats” but lets try to stay in the battle so we can be seated

as high as Christ would want us to be.
